2.  Submit a recent non-professional photo of the mother and her children you'd like to enter into the contest...this can be of yourself or any mother you adore...by email to kimberly@lifelongmemoriesphoto.com.  I will post them to a special contest album on my Facebook fan page on Tuesday, May 3rd.

3.  Send your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to join my Facebook fan page, if they haven't already, and VOTE for their favorite picture (i.e. YOURS!)

4.  The winner will be announced on May 8, 2011, based on the total number of votes for each entered image.  Votes are counted as comments on each individual image/entry.  A person must be a fan of my Facebook fan page to vote.  Votes from people that are not fans will not be counted!

Final Call for all 2011 High School Seniors!

The countdown to graduation is in full swing, and there’s still a few weeks left to capture your Senior Portraits before the big day arrives.  If you want wallets or the way cool Senior Rep cards to slide into your graduation announcements, contact me today and we can make it happen.
I’m sharing the second session I did for my niece, who is graduating from Spotsylvania High in a few weeks.  You may recognize her from photos I posted last year.  We attempted her first session last summer, my sister-in-law took the day off work, we planned outfits and accessories, had a list of “must visit” locations, etc.  We were good to go, until we began and the heat continued to rise and rise. It was one of the 104 degree weather days…I’m sure many of you remember them.  Needless to say, we were hot and sick to our stomachs and had to call it off.  We were able to coordinate our schedules and try again a few weeks ago, and I’m happy that she is thrilled with them this time.  No over-flushed cheeks and beads of sweat to edit works for me too!
Enjoy!

Springtime...In full bloom!

Aaaahhhh…there’s nothing like spring blossoms to make you feel alive and ready to take on the world!  I had the pleasure of visiting the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens this past weekend with a dear friend of mine, to take in their Tulip Celebration.  The tulips, orchids and tons of other blossoms were breathtaking and everywhere you turned was new eye candy to make you gasp.  There were people dressed in period clothing riding old-fashioned bicycles, holding demonstrations, and encouraging you to try on flowered hats for photos.  Check out the gentleman on the large front wheel bike…not sure the official name, but how fun!

I am so excited about an upcoming family session in the gardens, and if you’ve ever pictured your family showcased among flowers, walkways, bridges and ponds than this the perfect place to hold your next family session.  There is a fee associated with the gardens, but I know from the amount of money I spent for the few flowers I have in my own front yard, the fee is minimal for such beauty.

Wanted to share a few of my favorites from the day, and now headed outside to enjoy this warm sunshine.

Tutus, headpieces, ruffled bottom diaper covers and dresses galore!

You may remember this little beauty from several months ago, from her 3 month session.  Now she is 8 months and it was a pleasure to head back to capture her latest milestones.  Mom had the best little array of gorgeous tutus, headpieces, ruffled bottom diaper covers and dresses galore!  It was a fun, relaxing session all around.  She is so expressive and I have so many adorable looks to share with mom and dad when we get back together.  Isn’t her Dedication dress so beautiful?  I love the lace detail, and the tiny little pearls throughout.  The little bonnet barely fit, so it’s a good thing we got together when we did.  Look forward to watching this little one grow and change over the next year.  Enjoy your Sneak Peek!

Organic Bloom Frames - Simply Amazing!

I am in LOVE with these new frames, and the possibilities they offer for any photo!  I mentioned them around Christmas time, and now would love to share some samples of what they can do for your portraits.

The color selections are amazing!  The bright, vibrant colors go great in a kids bedroom, bathroom, or anywhere in your home you’d like a splash of color.  The black and espresso brown look amazing with black and white or chocolate photos.

The Johnny & June:

I am attaching some photos pulled from the Organic Bloom Facebook page to show some of the varieties of designs and colors available.  To see the complete collection head on over to their website: http://lifelongmemoriesphto.com or check them out on Facebook for some awesome ideas and the latest news.

The Lucy & Megan:

I’m planning to order several to show at future ordering sessions, and a couple to decorate my kid’s bathrooms and bedrooms.  These frames will make any photo a “wow” photo and bring a smile every time you see it!  What can be better than that?  If you’re interested in placing an order for some frames of your own, e-mail or call me today!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Tip-toeing through the tulips...well, not exactly but close enough!

Tip-toeing through a field of daffodils with my camera and my youngest muse has been a wish of mine for years. I’ve planted bulbs, and attempted to make my own “field of flowers”, but they never seemed to take off.  I always ended up with a few pretty ones to pick and hold in their hands, and that was about it.  Well this year, my mom’s neighbor told her about a gorgeous field of daffodils located back in the woods, so I jumped at the chance to go.  I was a little nervous about the wind, as any of you close to Fredericksburg can attest to how crazy that was yesterday, and of driving my Swagger Wagon into the rough terrain, but I was determined to get there.  Well, we made it without getting stuck, and when we pulled up to the field it was well worth the drive. GORGEOUS can’t even describe how they looked…on and on they went.  Apparently an old house was built back there long ago, and is long gone now, but they must’ve planted them years and years ago, and through the years they’ve become a field.  A photographers dream…well, at least mine.  Here are several of my Miss Olivia in this years Easter dress.  Thanks for peeking.

Petey Bird!

Tweet, tweet, chirp, chirp…those are the sounds floating throughout my house each day…meet Petey.  He was Bryson’s birthday gift two years ago, and though he doesn’t get as much one on one attention as he deserves, he’s well loved and always fun to let him eat out of your hand or stroke his soft feathers.
I recently repainted and redecorated the kid’s bathroom, and needed something with that gorgeous green color I love…avocado green, tree frog green, basil…whatever it’s called I LOVE it, hence my website colors!  Anyway, Petey’s gorgeous green feathers match perfectly, so captured some recent shots of Bryson with his little friend to decorate the walls.  Now off to capture some bubble shots of the other two youngest kids so they don’t wonder why they aren’t on the walls too!

And one just for laughs...I couldn't resist sharing.  This is so Bryson...my silly little guy.  Don't worry; precious Petey wasn't harmed in anyway!

A Sat. evening at the Longs...

Cool spring evening, the smell of fresh cut grass, cousins spending the night and an hour until dinner…what else could be better than a game of football to pass the time?  Had to grab a few snapshots of all my boys playing…they are growing so fast & I don’t want to miss a second!  And one of Miss Olivia on her new big girl bike…she rides it every chance she gets.
